In the gravure printing industry, color difference control is one of the key factors to ensure product quality and consistency. For packaging paper, accurate color reproduction is not only related to the aesthetics of the product, but also directly affects consumers' purchasing decisions and brand image. This article briefly introduces the measurement method of color difference of gravure printing packaging paper.

Method for measuring color difference of gravure printing packaging paper

There are two main methods for measuring the color difference of gravure printed packaging paper: visual inspection and instrumental measurement .

1. Visual inspection method

Visual inspection is the simplest and most intuitive method, which mainly compares the printed product with the standard sample by observing the color difference. This method is simple and easy to use, but it is greatly affected by factors such as light and the subjective feelings of the observer, and it is more dependent on experienced masters, so the accuracy is relatively low and there is a greater probability of fluctuation. When using the visual inspection method, you should pay attention to the following points:

* Choose appropriate light source and environmental conditions to ensure stable and interference-free light.

* Choose experienced observers to conduct the comparison to avoid subjective factors affecting the results.

* Compare multiple samples to obtain more accurate evaluation results.

2. Instrumental measurement method

Instrumental measurement refers to the measurement of color difference using a colorimeter. This method has the advantages of high accuracy and strong objectivity, and is currently a commonly used color difference measurement method. Commonly used color measurement instruments include spectrophotometers, colorimeters, etc. When using instrumental measurement methods, the following points should be noted:

* Select appropriate colorimetric instruments and measurement parameters, such as measurement range, resolution, etc.

*Measure the sample multiple times under the same conditions and take the average value to improve accuracy.

* Perform data analysis and processing on the measurement results to obtain accurate color difference values.

 

The specific detection method steps are as follows:

(1) Choose a suitable colorimeter/colorimeter. Make sure the colorimeter/colorimeter is suitable for gravure printing type measurement and has good accuracy and stability.

(2) Power on and calibrate. Press the power button on the instrument to turn on the device and ensure that the device is in good operating condition. Follow the prompts on the operation interface to perform accurate calibration.

Precautions for using colorimeter/colorimeter

1. This instrument is a precision optical measuring instrument. During measurement, drastic changes in the external environment of the instrument should be avoided, such as flickering of ambient light, rapid changes in temperature, etc.

2. When measuring, the instrument should be kept stable, the object to be measured should be close to the measuring port, and shaking and displacement should be avoided.

3. This instrument is not waterproof and should not be used in high humidity environments or water mist.

4. Keep the instrument clean and tidy, and prevent water, dust and other liquids, powders or solid foreign objects from entering the integrating sphere and the inside of the instrument. Avoid impact or collision with the instrument.

5. The standard plate should be cleaned regularly with a wiping cloth to ensure that the working surface of the standard plate is clean. The standard plate should be stored in a light-proof, dry and cool environment.

6. After using the instrument, turn off the power supply and put the instrument and standard plate into the instrument box and store it in a dry and cool environment.

7. The user is not allowed to make any unauthorized changes to the instrument. Any unauthorized changes may affect the accuracy of the instrument or even irreversibly damage the instrument.
